Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.
Last week started with a funeral. Obviously it’s not the way that we would have liked to have started the week, but it did mean that we has some precious time with some extended family. It was a long and emotional week, and I think we’re all glad that it’s over now. On a positive note, this weekend and the start of December have had us feeling more festive.
On Saturday we visited Banham Zoo. It was very cold, but dry and sunny. M loves visiting the zoo and enjoys identifying the different animals. Unfortunately she kept mistaking emus for flamingos, so she was very excited when she saw the actual flamingos!
B’s photograph was taken in one of those ‘your face here’ cut out pictures. She doesn’t seem to like looking at the camera at the moment, despite almost constantly asking me to take her photo! There must have been something interesting going on out of shot, as both girls are looking in the same direction!
This week I’m looking forward to receiving my Black Friday purchases (I had several things that we had been planning to buy over the past six weeks or so, that I waited to purchase in the Black Friday sales). I must be getting old, because I’m particularly looking forward to the arrival of my new heated airer! Hopefully it will mean that we don’t need to use the tumble dryer so much, which should save some electricity but also stop the house from getting too damp. I’ll also be getting the house in order ready to put up the Christmas tree this weekend. Have you got your tree up yet?
