Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.
Last week, M’s toddler classes started again. It was so nice to have a bit of structure to the week, and a couple of things for her to look forward to. On Wednesday, she had a go at toddler yoga. I think M quite enjoyed it as two of her little friends were there, but it wasn’t quite as engaging as I was hoping it would be, so I’m not sure we’ll be going back. On Thursday, we went to Hartbeeps, which M loves. I think she was pleased to get back to it after the long break.
Both of this week’s photographs were taken at the weekend. On Saturday, B turned six months old. It’s incredible how quickly this milestone has come around. We really need to start the weaning process, but I’m not quite ready to admit that she’s not a tiny baby anymore! In the past week, B has really started to become more mobile. She’s been rolling more and wriggling to get to things. It feels like it won’t be long until she’s crawling. If she’s anything like her sister, though, she’ll be happy just to roll everywhere – M didn’t start crawling until she was eight months old.
As for M, her photograph was taken at the Dinosaur Park on Saturday. I know it’s not the most amazing of photographs, but it makes me smile when I look at it because of what she was saying as I took it. As I was snapping away, she was calling out, “not yet, mummy, I’m not ready!” I think she’s really getting into having her photograph taken, and had in mind what would make the perfect shot. I think she was planning on me taking the photograph when she was on the slide (which I did!), but for me, this picture sums up her personality more.
This week, it’s Matthew’s birthday midweek, so we’ve got that to look forward to. We also need to do some birthday-related shopping before then, so hopefully that will be fun. No rest for the wicked!
