Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.
This week has been a good one. After the scorching hot day that was Monday, when we visited a shopping centre with the sole intention of enjoying their air conditioning, the weather cooled down a bit and I felt more relaxed. On Tuesday I set up an awesome (even if I do say so myself!) farmyard tuff spot for M. We also did a bit of painting and gardening throughout the week, which she really enjoyed.
My Living Arrows photo of M for this week was taken at a play area in Sheringham. We headed up there on Saturday to enjoy some gluten free fish and chips. M has slowly been getting more confident with slides. I was amazed that she agreed to go anywhere near this one, as it was taller and narrower than any slide she had been on before, but she seemed really keen and confident to go on it. She did insist on daddy coming down with her though (he’s just out of shot)!
On Thursday, we had some wonderful news when I took B to the hospital for her hip scan. After just six weeks, the Pavlik harness has done its job, and she had a normal hip scan! Hurrah! This meant that we were able to have B’s Pavlik harness removed after just weeks, instead of the 12 that we had been warned to expect at the start. I’m so thrilled for B, as not only does it mean that she has healthy hips, but she also gets to be free from the harness, which she must have been absolutely roasting in during this hot weather.
So whilst this photograph isn’t the most amazing in terms of composition, it does show B being able to move her little legs however she’d like, and looking rather pleased about it!
This weekend felt like the start of the summer holidays, but Matthew still has two more days at work before it actually starts. We are so ready for it, though! We have barely any plans at the moment, but we’re looking forward to having some quality time together as a family of four.
