Living Arrows 24/52 {2019}

June 17, 2019

Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.

I was about to write that last week was another busy one, but I think now that M has started preschool, every term time week is going to feel busy!

My favourite photograph of M last week was this one, that I took at Banham Zoo on Friday. It was her first ever ‘school’ trip (although every child had a parent with them). M was so excited about it. She loves Banham Zoo and it was so thrilling for her to be able to see the animals with all of her little friends.

B’s photograph was taken on Saturday when we went to the beach. It makes me smile because she’s in that typical baby/toddler hat refusal stage. I lost count of how many times we put it back on her!

Unfortunately, while we were at the beach, a big gust of wind blew sand in B’s face, and irritated her eye. It stayed red and puffy, so that evening I called 111 for advice and of course they sent us to A&E.

After a couple of hours’ wait, B slept all the way through having her eyelid turned inside out, a grain of sand removed and her eye flushed with saline! Thankfully it all seems back to normal now, and we’re very grateful for the NHS!

    Such a cute picture! I love the big cat frame – an awesome picture.

  2. Oh my goodness, the a&e episode sounds stressful! Glad all is ok now x

      Fortunately B wasn’t too distressed so the wait wasn’t too stressful! But glad we had it looked at and she’s all sorted x

    Oh my gosh how cute does M look?! And her first school trip! Such an occasion! x

  4. Glad her eye was ok, poor little thing. That’s the one thing about the beach, the sand gets everywhere!

      She is such a little dirt magnet, bless her! But this really was just down to a massive gust of wind in the wrong direction. Thankfully she’s been just fine, since!

  5. It amazes me that babies can sleep through an A & E visit but can’t manage to sleep at night time!

    Lovely pictures of both girls

      Ha I know! I think she just completely crashed by that point. It was preferable to her crying and fighting treatment though, so I didn’t mind! x
