We’ve been loving watching the seasons changing and my three year old has enjoyed spotting the different colours in the trees, as they change colour through Autumn as we prepare for Winter. If you’d like to celebrate the colder seasons with your EYFS children, then here are five Autumn/Winter tuff spot ideas to help!
My toddlers loved this Autumn exploration tuff spot, feeling the different textures and making pictures from the different elements. All put together from things from nature, found on a short walk (plus a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch!).
I don’t know about you, but there’s something about We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, which suggests it should be accompanied by a nice blanket and a hot chocolate. Definitely an Autumn/Winter story! This ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ tuff spot prompts children to retell the story and enjoy a sensory experience.
This Winter Sensory Play activity form the Ladybirds’ Adventures is a great mess-free winter activity. There are lots of lovely elements in this tuff spot to appeal to all children within the EYFS age range.
This icy tuff spot activity is a little chilly, but the addition of underlay helps to warm it up a little bit! A lovely sensory activity for all ages. You could freeze the animals inside the ice as in this animal ice rescue tuff spot, to add an additional aspect to the melting investigation.
This instant snow play tuff spot by Arthurwears is a really nice investigation, which children can explore for themselves. Lots of winter fun to be had!
